UC Medusas Zoanthids
One of the "rainbow" zoanthids varieties! This zoanthid was named after its skirts, which can get very long and curly under the right conditions, making it look similar to the Greek gorgon herself. The skirts have a soft green speckling followed by a blue ring. The body of the UC Medusa is a pastel green with small black "tick tock" marks similar to a clock and a faint pink ring.
The polyps of UC Medusas can get fairly large and its relatively easy to keep as well! Because of its ease of care along with large polyp size, its slowly become a favorite among zoanthid collectors.
Originator
Ultra Corals
Care Level
Great beginner coral! Does not consume elements such as alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium readily. A great choice if you're looking to keep a low maintenance reef or are just getting into the hobby and haven't built a strong understanding of the hobby yet.
Growth Rate
A decent grower!
Lighting Placement
Prefers to be kept in lower to medium lighting.
Flow Strength
We recommend starting smaller zoanthid frags in lower flow until it reaches a small colony size. Once established, increase the flow level to avoid any detritus building up in between the mat. If detritus builds up inside the matting of the zoanthid, it can cause bacterial issues.
